“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”

I grew up in a time
When childhood was not a crime
But, look around now
Childhood has taken a bow
Disappearing in to the dark
It no longer has a spark
Childhood is like a moon flower
It only blooms in the dark hour
Children are doomed
Adulthood no longer looms
It overpowers and destroys
The innocence of girls and boys

The author's comments:
Nowadays, children have to grow up fast or they are looked down upon in society as carefree and I think that needs to be addressed.
