Tomorrow's gonna be better

Not one day can you walk the streets
Without passing by the signs
The signs that beg and plead and warn and threaten
The signs that are dull and shiny and old and new

Not one day can you walk the streets
Without passing by the signs
The signs held by shops and car-washers
The signs held by the poor and needy

Not one day can you walk the streets
Without passing by the signs
The signs that say to do this
The signs that say to not do that

Not one day can you walk the streets
Without passing by the signs
The signs that beg and plead and warn and threaten
The signs that are dull and shiny and old and new

The signs that are begging for an eye and attention
The signs that are seen and ignored by all
Not one day can you walk the streets
Without passing by the signs

The author's comments:
I got the idea for this peice from a song called "Signs" that my dad used to sing to me when I was little. It talked about how signs kept this person from doing what he wanted, and I wanted to say something like that too.
