Poem, "Frog"

The poorness of principle
Quails buzz in the leaves
Twigging and burning
They all wear
Gray dresses
They all
Sing and chime
Eyes so wide and
Bubbly like
Little black beans
Despair qualifies this
Cross-legged demeanor
Detention tempers the frog
Vultures craze in
The sky
Dive and swoon down
Down to its target
Blaze and bark
Goes the poor
Jumping shrimp
And impertinent serpents
Murder the gospel
Sweet willows sting
As acid cleans wounds
Cardboard is leprosy
Against numb skin
Leap its legs expand protracted.
