I have a dream sometimes
That I am running (everywhere) through the snow with
You can be tall and laughing and you have kind
Eyes that glint
Before you launch a surprise
Attacking me with balls of powdering
White as the sky and
The stars, no longer as far from my reach as
I once thought I was alone, and now I know
I was wrong, because when I talk you understand
Me and you drink tea together and hold
Hands that wrap around my
Shouldering my sorrow when I fall into
The deep dark that nothing can save me from, except when we
Hugging is the best with you because you are all
Enveloping me with safety and genuine
Smiling as we watch Disney movies and Star Wars, catching popcorn in our
Mouthing words as they, you know the they,
Nagging worries, which I ignore as I read you Shakespeare, Agatha Christie, and
“Tolstoi was wrong about love,” you remark as we lay
Together, fully clothed and discussing ancient
History that you know well like Rome and that
I am learning how to say goodbye, because as you say “seeya”, I cry
I cry
I cry as you are just a dream
