Nervousness settles in to stay for a while,

ideas cloud my mind,

I take a deep relaxing breath,

as calmness washes over me like a soothing ocean wave,

excitement begins to take over all other feelings,

my hand is a bird flying across the piece of paper.

The room is silent as a sleeping cat,

except for the scritch scratch of the pencil running across the paper,

but in my mind it sounded like a crowded carnival,

as each idea shouted to be heard over the others.

I watched as the paper filled up with all the ideas and words it could hold,

no longer was it blank,

I placed the page aside knowing there would be much more to write,

my eyes closed as I let the possibilities float past me,

so many turns you could take,

each way could form into a new story,

a different tale to be told,

or the beginning of a new adventure.
