The moment my eyes landed on your arms covered by a thickening pool of blood,
My brain demanded I walk away.
I tried to tear my eyes away from your destroyed body,
but failed miserably.
I tried to turn the other direction and erase the memory of you,
But my feet were glued to the ground as if it was quicksand.

Your eyes are the Atlantic Ocean,
It’s only job to hide the sorrow buried deep inside.

Your wrists have an invisible tug on my heart,
Each gash causes an overflow of sympathetic tears,

You have planted a barrier in front of your soul,
The wall is steep,
The climb is arduous,
But it isn’t impossible.
