Favorite Quote:
"nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands" e.e. cummings

Illness stricken,
My time has come.
My hope is fading
like the sun.
Sadness sinking
In the sea
They threw me out
and abandoned me.
There's no hope
For the sick on this journey.
Now sharks surround me, small
In comparison to the Great One
That originally abducted me.
I reach out my hand
To plead for help,
But no answer comes
From neither me,
Nor the Great One.
Illness stricken,
My time has come.

I had to write a poem my Junior year in high school for my Humanities class in response to a certain painting. I chose the painting "The Slave Ship" by J. M. W. Turner.
