With the passing of each day,
I wonder if there will ever be another word to me that you will say.
It pains me to see you go off on your separate way.
I feel that the debt of a broken heart I now pay.

It seems that your going has answered my fears.
Now to my eyes comes a gentle trickle of tears.
You have stopped in me the spinning of life’s gears.
My sobs have turned from happy cheers.

Perhaps it wouldn’t matter much to you now if I said: “I love you.”
Even now that you are gone, it is still true.
Does the grass seem greener away from me even when it is covered with dew?
My heart seems to be broken and left in a lonely church pew.

Now, with the sunset’s last gleam,
it seems the day that I will see you again is only part of a dream.
That will never come true- but, I wish that isn’t how it will seem.
I feel I am being crushed by a broken heart that is a heavy beam.

As I now write these words,
I hope you are at a place where you can hear the chirping of birds.
I hope you are close to the sound of the oceans gentle waves.
Let us not carry loves burden such as that of the burden of slaves.

Perhaps these words don’t bring you anything.
They don’t make you want to dance and sing.
If not, I bid you well- may you find your lover that life will bring.
May you dance like a butterfly’s wing.

So until we meet again,
may we always stay on the path away from sin.
Let us treat each day like it is a win.
As for now, good bye- I miss you.

So, this is pretty much the first love poem that I have ever written. I hope you enjoy reading it!

Oh so sad, why must love always hurt?
