I write when I’m sad,
When Life just isn’t fair;
When the world is full of strife,
And no one seems to care.

I write when I’m joyful,
When everything feels right;
When people can’t stop smiling,
And life is oh-so bright.

I write when I’m gloomy,
When I’m in a lot of pain;
But I know I can’t see a rainbow,
Without enduring rain.

I write when I’m content,
When the cloudless sky is blue;
When not a thing can bring me down,
And anything I can do.

I write when I’m pensive,
When I’m lost in thought;
When I can’t be distracted,
And my attention can’t be caught.

I write about everything,
And when I experience every emotion;
When I write the world stops,
And there is no commotion.

I write because I can,
I write what I want;
When I write I’m nonchalant,
And my talent I flaunt.

That is why I write.
