Frozen Smiles

I am happy when I see you
but sad when I cannot
Even through the picture's memories
of a frozen, smiling face
I see you but cannot
hear you but cannot
Truly feel your presence
in a frozen smiling face
I cannot feel your heartbeat
through talking on the phone
I wish to see smile
and dance and laugh a lot
But now I cannot see you
through a frozen, smiling face.

I love this poem!  It kind of reminds me of my background of moving from state to state, and not being able to see my friend . . . though I have plenty of pictures.  Well done!

Thank you! I also know people who have moved a lot and that can be difficult sometimes.
