"Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one." (Albert Einstein)

Unspoken thoughts fly awry through my head
As I churn here awake
Alight in my bed
The living lie awake; the dead stand undead
In the crescendo of night
As if alive in my stead

Morn has time away
Eyebrows lifted
Eyes averted, astray
Labored breathing quickened; wary of day
Cool mists bring upon sadness
Loneliness…decay

The brisk melody of a lonely sparrow
Separates the stiff dawning air
Piercing my mind like an arrow
Penetrating my senses; shallow and narrow
Blank eyes, stunned
Staring ahead into the shadows

Slowly morning rests high
I smile sadly
As a wreath of twigs gusting smoothly by
Outside my window; fog so high
Lifting away
To a welcoming sky

Hello.. You write extremely well ☺️ It is nice to stumble across a modern poet...who is actually, you know-poetic. The way you write has it's own style. I'm sorry that this comment is kinda lame-but your writing is very very good...and that's all. But I thoroughly enjoy your poems :) Keep up the great work!!
