“Cruelty is all out of ignorance. If you knew what was in store for you, you wouldn't hurt anybody, because whatever you do comes back much more forceful than you send it out” -Willie Nelson

I fly through the air in awefilled delight,
Through skies of blue and clouds of white,
Arms flung wide,
A shudder in my ride,
As I look avast
I see some odd things;
My arms no longer arms,
But wings.
I am now an eagle,
Flying regal.
Above the feilds,
My peircing gaze finds paradise,
Lush green trees
Sway in the breeze,
Blue-greeen water
Touches pale sand beaches,
And beautiful birds sit and eat peaches.
I gladly turn and fly away,
This isn't where I belong today.
Somewhere not so far from here,
Is a place in which, I fear,
Means more to me
Than nectar to a bumble bee.

The author's comments:
when i wrote this, i had just gotten out of a situation that i wasn't comfortable in so this really came out of my heart. i finally felt free from that part of me. the paradise in the poem is that situation i was in, because it seemed golden for a while. me as the eagle flying away is my retreat from that situation into a happier life.
