Ballerina in the light
Flashing those fake pearls
She neither can please herself
Or be sweet to other girls

Standing tall in the light
She looks down on the crowd
No different is that dark gaze
From what her heart shows loud

She the one that no one may miss
Had she disappear from sight
That dreadful thing to her
That happened one eventless night

No one knows where she be
Or where she may roam
But to this day they all say
That one say she may come home

That tempered girl without a clue
Of how she made others feel
That really she only brought happiness
When she was no longer real

Thank you so much. I actually usually don't rhyme my poems, but wanted to do something different this time. Thanks for liking it!

Very pretty poem, despite the rhyming. Rhyme is used mostly for children's literature now, and most rhyming poetry is excluded and ignored. Without the rhyme, the poem is exceptional. It tells a beautiful story about a young ballerina and the pressure she feels. I love the line "standing tall in the light" because it has so much meaning and feeling. Great job :)
