Far From Ordinary

Just an ordinary day,
an ordinary 6th grade student day,
or so I thought.
I walk in the room
with a smile on my face.
A smile that would soon fade.
I get told you're in the hospital,
and someone was coming to pick me up.
To make it worse,
he didn't know what was going on either.
So I had to sit and casually ride
in a car
and kill myself with negative thoughts,
and those thoughts weren't so wrong.
You were almost dead.
Everything was declining,
and you were so close to leaving me,
but you weren't ready yet.

Chained.
You and the bed were one.
But shouldn't that be us?
Although you didn't leave me,
you were never the same,
and everything you say and do
is just a reminder of that.
You're fading away.
It wasn't a normal day
because that was the day I lost you.
