I have a thing for comic books.
The glossy pages, the smooth covers.
I have a thing for writing.
Beautiful words, interesting meanings.
I have a thing for dogs.
Adorable faces, ginormous hearts.
I have a thing for riding around in a car.
The calming hum of the engine, the steady movement.
I have a thing for the beginning of the school year.
Fresh starts, more challenges.
I have a thing for basketball.
The desire to be better, the competition.
I have a thing for fettuccini alfredo.
The creamy sauce, the smooth noodles.
I have a thing for drama club.
Different roles, unique characters.
And I have a thing for you.
This poem.

So simple yet so elegant. You have a gift with poetry. I can appreciate this very much since I cannot write poetry if my life depended on it. Prose is more my thing. Back you you....as i was reading this, it make think of everything you mentioned in a flash and it made me smile. Very few poets can do that and even fewer writers can use such simple words and spin out something entirely of its own beauty. You have talent. Keep working on it and just let me know whan you post anything more :)
