"I'll never let go." Rose from Tittanic

No matter how much she screamed the doors never opened.
Her clenched fists banged frantically on closed doors.
Raw fingers clawed into the wooden beams.
The heavy rain continued to pour.
The unyielding water seeped through her gown washing away the blood.
Shrieks of desperation penetrated the air.
Her time was running out.
But from above, the people only stood there…
Watching from the window.
Heavy boots came tromping through the streets.
Bearded men wielding axes and ignited torches.
They enclosed the hysterical girl,
Their lips curled in a twisted smile.
The mass shouts out to the night sky words of indecency.
But the girl slumped across the floor.
The girl’s screams enhanced as a man enthralls her curls.
She is dragged down the slick steps of the cathedral.
Hauled by the hair to the center of town.
Pinned down on a vacant bench
A man comes forward, ax in hand.
A savage cry enlaced with the girl’s final scream comes before the blow.
Silence then lingered as the corpse lied still, blood pooling.
A single word is then craved on the wood’s surface.
Murderer.
