"I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way." - Carl Sagan

Sunlight
Branches and arcs
Through the tears of dawn

Breaks free
and sets into
a blooming lily

Hussshhhh
says the crystals of cool
as they gracefully dace

Turn, spin, and flutter
and grace the ground
dropped from above

In a great change

Fhwump
Robin unfurls its wings
and stretches to stars

A scent fills its nostrils
A look unnerves its eye
Off it goes

The hunt is on

The hard sheet of cold
recedes from the banks
of the pool long in waiting

Silvery slashes of sleek
slip silently through
the waves

And the birds sing
their morning ballads

And the fish swish
their dances of slick

And the lily waves
to the rhythm of spring

To all who care to hear
