A title thrusted upon me at the moment of my first breathe

With every misconception that followed

Synonymous for naïve

Innocence dripping forth it

A name that I share with every new born child on this god forsaken earth

A name that is used to show my worth as person

For if I didn't possess this awful term then I am tainted

Useless

How silly this idea that such a small man-made title dictate my price.

It is flung around for if you are what they call a virgin then you are of innocence and beauty. A princess to all around.

But if you are not of this then you are a disgrace. A whore. A slut. In some terms you are rightfully able to be murdered at the hand of your father. Banish-able. Even if it wasn't your idea to lose it.

This term so perverse. The scapegoat to manys actions.
Had plagued my life. My mothers. My sisters. My friends.
It has dictated our lives to so much extreme.
But aren't we at the end of the day simple the same people we would have been.
How funny a six letter word dictate who we are. How we stand. What others think.
What a funny word indeed.
