there are days when the sun is out
and the only thing you can
think about is
the rain
there are days when we’re together
and days that we’re apart
but nowadays, my head
is only ever empty
and there are days when I remember
when together was an easy thing
when words and thoughts
were intertwined
but our promises fall faster than our memories
and sooner or later, we watch them both
shatter as they hit the ground.
let’s face it.
there was only ever rain
after the sun.
