Pro illis qui in vanum quaerere

You learn something new everyday
Or at least thats what they say
Facts, figures, numbers and such
Things you can't see, Stuff you can touch
But somedays what you learn is hard to face
Such as harsh truths in this case
The truth is too rough a reality
And too often brings finallity
It is fair to say with conviction
Harsh truths cause much friction
And are harder to face than darkest fear
Because whenever you look in the mirror
You are reminded of what you truely are
And you see you really aren't a star
Reality hits your ego with force
Leaving you with only anger and remorse
Bitter enmity and annoyance
However it is a moment of Clairvoyance
You see what you are inside
With all your pride put aside
All your colors are in plain sight
All your secrets are in the light
And in a moment of brilliant clarity
You realize this was an act of charity
An opportunity to fix your faults
that are usually in sealed vaults
You will never be the same
After this moment of shame
But its for the best
Merely a hard test.
If we had a choice to face the truth we never would...
Even though its for the greater good.
