I am afraid
Holding your hand in the dimly lit street
The black night covers us like a blanket
Invisible to the world around
We are alone.
I grasp your hand tighter
Not wanting to ever let go
But what if I do?
You will melt away into the big world
Sinking away in the shadows
Gone from me forever
You the foundation, the cause of my life
Will disappear
Making me crumble away
Into a void of desperation
Even if I crawl out
Ruined by the remorse and sorrow
The thought of you will haunt me
A ghost which I can never see
I will never forget you
So yes,
I am afraid.
I am afraid of losing you.
