White chalk choking
out white dust as
she drew flat
lines, smooth as a
paved drag; straight shot
up but numbers burned
down,
now,
sunken bowls unveil her
beauty, pitted; our
truth, collapsed and
cored. Her own voice
echoes, battering the
deepest hollows of her broken
body. Stay so safe, un-
severed
soul.
