Tap, Tap, Tap
I peered through the foggy glass
At my current visitor

It’s yet another small boy
with his sticky, little fingers
and chocolate-stained mouth

Day after day people ogle
through the misty glass
trying to get my attention

Do they expect me to wave back,
or do a back flip into the wall,
or dance the hula?

Isn’t it bad enough that I was
sentenced to this watery dungeon
since I first waved my flipper?

What I want is to be free
I want to be released
from this soggy prison

I want to roam the ocean
I want to ride the waves
I want to feel the current on my scales

Yet, all I get is a handful
of expired tuna for breakfast
I’m a vegetarian!
