Hanging Noose

Do you see the hanging noose
Limp around my neck?

Already broken from the weight
Of troubles on my mind?

Do you hear the silence sing
A mournful funeral tune?

The noose shrinks
The rope goes taut

My feet are loose
Above the barren earth

Yet the noose does not choke
For all that it hangs
Is itself

It's short, but you say so much. I can completely feel what you're expressing, and I can relate to it. I think everyone's in this place sometimes. It's not an easy state to put into words, but I think you got it down. I don't know if it's my place to say this, but things get better. It's never like this all the time, believe me. You're a great poet. :)
