Storms

Rain drops pounding on the shingles,
Chasing each other down the window pane.
Thunder claps,
And send a child crying to their parents room.
Lightening cracks,
Sending a tree crashing to the ground.

Howling winds whip in circles,
Picking up things,
And throwing them miles away.
A vortex that destroys everything in its’ path.

Waves crashing on the shore,
Flooding streets,
And plowing homes.
Water fills all the sidewalks,
And drowns everything.

People barricade themselves away from storms.
They lock themselves up in their rooms,
And find a way to pretend it isn’t there.
Media publicizes their flaws,
And says that storms are bad,
And nothing but destruction.

But have you ever watched a storm?
Have her ever watched lightening illuminate the sky?
Or watched a tornado dance across the ground?
Or watched the waves of a hurricane curl before they crash onto shore?

There is beauty in every storm.
