Angels and Stones

The angel sits,
still and composed.
Lying on top of that beautiful stone.
The expression of pain seeping through her eyes.
No tears escape her stone face.
Not a desolate, single tear.
Just sadness.
As the angels watch the dead
and protect their graves.
Letting them sleep in peace,
as the angels suffer their pain.
