this is how i replaced you

i write less poetry about
things i couldn’t ever
have attained
and i feel a lot better now,
when you don’t say
anything
and i don’t have to say ‘hello’
and i wonder if you’d feel sad
that this girl doesn’t think of you
any longer
because right now i am sitting alone
at home, reading a crime mystery
and eating peach yogurt
and trying to remember everything
that henry vii
ever did
and i am too busy to
think about you
