Really and Truly
saw you beatin down the block
in your silly silver flash
while I'm turning pavement to dust
and returning metropolis to
rolling grass.
didn't stop, just gritted teeth
and kept on trucking right along
we were both on different missions,
trying to force things that
don't belong.
it's silly stupid, oh messy jessie
to believe in things that aren't true,
that happiness should be optional
and I can make excuses for the
things you do.
so beat around the town,
leave me coughing bitterly in exhaust
cause it's ridiculous, really and truly,
to believe with you I won't be lost.
