"The things that walk out when we open our minds." -Dylan McCoy

I'd like to tell the world what I'm all about,
But I don't believe they'd listen, I can't let it out.
Would they laugh?
Would they cry?
Would they leave me alone?
Would they answer if I called, or hit reject on their phone?
I'd like to tell the world why I'm hurting inside,
But I doubt that they'd hear me, I could only silently cry.
The people only see what they want to,
They turn their heads at the poor.
If you were sick they'd just leave you,
Nobody would answer their door,
I'd like to tell the world how to laugh, how to breathe,
But I know they'd think I'm lying, I'm someone they can't believe.
When you fall, hit the ground
Would you know how to heal?
Or would you lay there, breathing slowly
Since the world told not to feel?
I'd like to tell the world how to quit with their lies,
But my words never make it, my voice wavers and dies.

Gosh this poem is incredible! I think the rhyme makes it a little more musical and makes it more memorable. And I love your message. Very somber and deep, it really makes you think. Great job!

I like the idea here, of a message in poetry to the world, but I think the rhyme was unnecessary. You could have done better if you just let the words flow like you do in some of your other poems.

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away."

I love the message of this poem. I tend to like it when the meaning of poems are hidden with metaphors, but I think the straigt forwardness really works here. I was drawn by the title of this and I wasn't disapointed. The rhythm at the beginning and the end are really strong and it sounds like it could be a song, but you lose that in the middle. Other than that, I love this and I'm looking forward to reading more of your work!

I can really connect with this poem. It made me think about myself and wonder what would happen if I spoke my mind. I like how you made this poem rhyme. I can't describe how much I love this poem, and the other poems I have read of yours! You are an amazing poet!!

Great rhyme scheme, and the questions helped make it better. The last couple lines wrapped it up nicely.

All of us fave failed to match our dream of perfection. I rate us on the basis of our splendid failure to do the impossible. -William Faulkner

Wow!! That was so wonderful and passionate and questioning and a thousand more things that would drive you crazy because of how long this sentence is! It was so truthful and amazing, the best poets are the ones that don't hide the truth behind pretty words but the ugly ones that really slap people in the face. I think that you are one of the real poets, the ones that ask a lot of questions in their poetry and force the reader to try and answer it themselves! Great job!!

Every time you comment, I feel so good. I am so happy you found me, not because I like compliments, but because you make me feel like writing. I honestly can't express how much I doubt myself when I post, I almost delete it because im afraid someone will hate it. I want to please everyone, which I definitely can't. But when I read your comments I know I've pleased at least two people: you, and myself. Because knowing that someone read it and cared makes me feel proud. I seriously love you, haha! Thank you so much, I'm hoping to post more this week. Thank you for reading

The more control you have over yourself, the less control others have over you.

KIKI. I FINALLY FOUND YOU. I FELT LIKE FRODO AND SAM LOOKING FOR MORDOR WHEN LOOKING FOR YOU. I HAVE BEEN ON A JOURNEY TO FIND THE WONDERFUL POET WHO WROTE 'If You Look Deeper Within My Walls' AND I FINALLY HAVE COMPLETED MY JOURNEY. And I would like to tell the world how wonderful you are at writing poetry. I loved the title. I loved the picture. I loved everything as a whole. I love the simplicity of this and the deeper meaning it all leads up to. I enjoyed all of the questions, I think questions make poems so interesting and entertaining. They make the reader ask themself the same questions. And they take the poem on a deeper level and completely take it in. I loved everything about this. And I hope you know that I'm a fan and I will be back to read more of your work now that I have found you! Seriously, I am so happy. And though I must sound like a stalker, I don't care at this point. Haha. Talk to you later!
