"Love is something unconditional. It continues to live even when everything dies." - By Me ♥

If you're going through rough times
I will remind you I know how it feels
If you're feeling hurt too much
I will remind you that wounds heal
If your heart is still beating
You are still yet to put up a fight
And if you feel ashamed
Do what you know is right
There honestly is a reason
Why you are here today
And the world cannot be perfect
So do not reflect off selfish ways
While we sit moping about the past
A little girl is dying to live now
And when we cry about why things happen
We should be standing taking bows
Because we still have time to learn
And education is the key
We sometimes feel shut out
But open the door of opportunity
You may still be in a gloomy room
You can stay motionless or take steps forward
Some may be dreamers
But the dream you must walk toward
It only takes one person
To inspire another's thought
So you can just live watching
Or take part affecting others a lot
I'll remind you love is within yourself
Because every person has talent to share
Just embrace it and make that staircase build
Climb and don't just bare
Because a wise man is in jail
This man is facing life
So do not let hardships get to you
Forget about the strife
This man is now there
Without any words of wisdom to spread
And even though he's innocent
He will reside there until he's dead
Therefore, you are the fortunate one
You are here to make a difference
So never doubt what you were blessed to have
Do not create a fence
Don't worry about the doctors
Don't worry about celebrities
Just know that you matter
Take the time and just see

The author's comments:
What inspired me to write this piece was my life. I have grown up around gangs and violence and saw how youth could be influenced by the glamorization of criminal activity. I was involved in the wrong crowd for a long time, but then realized how I needed a change. My close friends were soon dead, and I was fortunate to live through the crazy scenes I grew up with. I chose to get away from it all and turned to school. I for once mapped out goals. Now, I just want to help other's when I get older who have to face the same struggles and hopefully remove them from potential risks. I want people to know how valuable they are and lucky to live and improve the future.

Thank you, and it's true that we are more fortunate than many people out there. (:

Thank you. It describes a lot about me. A lot that seems a bit extreme but is actually true. (:

Thank you. It did touch many topics because I did have a lot going on at the moment. I've lived in third world countries and many people don't understand how good they got it.

This is as elaborate as it is interesting. I didnt find any serious direction but instead i felt like this poem 'streched' out and touched on many subjects. I liked this poem and I can re-read this whenever but it was just like "What did I interpret?"  Overall I DID enjoy this and expect even more works being posted
