Four Walls
Clear azure skies drift lazily
as a swift October breeze nips every hair on my body.
Frost blankets the lush, emerald plain,
while dancers in the sky sing a melodious tune.
A dewy scent of spring tickles my nose,
evidence of culprit clouds.
I gather crisp, icy prints of Christmas on my tongue,
melting like a firecracker popsicle on the Fourth.
Waltzing in my glory, granny-smith eyes rejoice.
I blink, to ensure reality,
and am faced with the sanity I feared.
These
blank,
confined,
four walls.
