Flirting with Gravity

this immutable and immeasurable spectacle
that you call gravity
maybe it’s a bit more than
the whimpering string
that tugs at my navel
maybe it bears more weight upon me
than helium
but what is more likely is that
this immutable and immeasurable spectacle
is no more heavy on my shoulders
than light-as-a-feather
oh, gravity
i wish i could say you bring me down
but i like the taste of air
up where the contrails till a blue soil
like a squid
like a colossus
like a monumental elemental
chip off the old block
i ascend past where gravity
lazily swipes in an afterthought
at my skin
and i there stand
past the time of
this immutable and immeasurable spectacle

Sometimes I'm ambitious, but most of the time I'm just asleep.
