My foot steps are the only sounds
The soft thud echoing a million times over
In a room so large you feel so small
Like a cog in a endless machine
Then a noise
The kind of cry that you know something is wrong
I wish it was a scream
The cry of terror of an imperfect being
What do you if you saw someone dying
I tell you what I would do
Cradle them in my arms
Heal them with medicine and words
And as long as there is a air in lungs and beating heart in my chest
never let the adults that almost killed
touch it heart so child like again
It's a game they play
A game that make the innocent guilty
The blissful miserable
A game of command and wealth but never happiness
I wouldn't chase who did
Sue them for money or power
Because that is all part of the game
For no one and everyone has hurt this child
shaved it's head to build homes
Cut it's skin to drive cars
For they call it mother earth
but when it is dying in your arms
It seems more like a child
What would you do if I told you you're killing someone
