The lights would give me a migraine if I wasn’t used to them.
They blink their neon eyes at me
In time to the music
Which pounds into the sides of my head
Still, I’m too numb to it by now
And I feel nothing at all.
The crowd would give me claustrophobia if I wasn’t used to it.
So many people all around
Too close for comfort
But I’m accustomed to them by now
And if they weren’t there I would feel alone.
The party would be unbearable if I wasn’t used to it.
It writhes and pulses and flashes through the room
A living thing
That pulls everyone in
Still, I’m too used to it by now
And I just can’t stop letting it suck me in.
