Sometimes I smile because winter passed on by like a tourist on vacation and I’m not even sad

I hope next time the cold air whips your words around and makes them take pleasure in travelling the distance to get to me

Sometimes, I swear, with a blink of an eye you can cause half a tidal wave and destroy everything I hated

I tried to shape my body into a mold so I could become exactly what you wanted
Because you’re the only one that ever noticed there was more to me than bruises and bandages

The words will one day fall from my lungs

I can hear the whispers of a life waiting to be lived with someone like you
Sometimes I like to ask walls if they knew the secret to loneliness
And the silence that follows brings me my answer

I can’t see anything clearly when I close my eyes but I feel like you’d understand if I told you I needed to leave from here

I’ll let my hair grow so maybe I can flow as freely as it does one day

I have so much living to do

Everyone needs to believe in something; I believe in you

I believe in the pureness and silence of naked tree limbs
I believe that vulnerability isn’t necessarily a bad thing
If you feel it with the right person

There’s a never ending stream of chances to fall in love with the world
I’m confused and it’s only half the beauty

At any given moment, I believe there are things to marvel at
Flowers bloom despite frost
It’s getting warm but I don’t feel sad
The sun rises every morning and asks for nothing of me in return,
The sun sets and I feel like I could learn a lot from a single selfless gesture

Words taste sweet on my tongue and I believe I have you to thank for that

Twelve months and I’m counting on another one to feel just as good as December
