Everything Will Be Fine

look.
look at their
sweet serpent tongues
dripping with just enough
honey
to lure us into their
poison lies
they are the ones whose twisted thorns trip us
but are the only thing to grasp as we fall
HARD
our blood stains the earth
and they drink it up
loving the pain and misery they caused
acid rain pours from the sky
and burns us with each little nick at our pride
what are they doing?
they drown us in gasoline
telling us everything will be fine
with their sweet serpent tongues
just before dropping the match
