For once I can enjoy
aromatic rain churning the
earth into mud,
for it is the fuel that
gives a flower life.
For once I can enjoy
the slow ticking clock checking the
precious seconds,
for those are the moments
spent reminiscing.
For once I can enjoy
vicious thorns on a briar rose
pricking my flesh,
for the pain is erased
when you caress me.
For once I can enjoy
warm breath falling upon my neck
as sleep arrives,
for it is the promise of
your love tomorrow.
