Through The Woods

Through the woods we ran,
Until we could run no more.
United as one we ran,
Until the sun went down.
Shadows flickered through the woods,
Shadows that kept us company.
I kept you company,
Like two wolves,
In the wind blowing through the woods.
I kept you slow and steady,
You made me a waterfall.
Through the woods we ran,
Until we could run no more.
Out of the woods we went,
Into the meadow,
Where I laid with you.

Hi Dragonsandthree/Andy! :) I really like this one! It's interesting. Glad I finally got around to reading it. I agree with Lexus that woods are always mysterious! and this poem is kind of mysterious but in a good way! Nice! :)

I love this poem. My favorite lines were "Like two wolves, in the wind blowing through the woods". You are a really talented writter, write on. :)

Hey there! I love the title, there is always something so mysterious about the woods, I think. And when I see a title like that I expect it to become a horror poem! So, that is very cool how the title leaves open perspective and mystery. I loved the way this poem came out. It was beautiful. It reminded me of The Hunger Games a bit, especially in the end when you used the word 'meadow'. I love the way these two people 'united as one'! That was brilliant. I loved the lines, 'Shadows flickered through the woods, Shadows that kept us company.' I love all the tiny details like wolves and waterfalls. This was beautiful! And I will read the first chapter this afternoon!
