Cigarette Smoke

Your words, sweet and dancing,
Swept over me like the summer breeze,
Enveloped me like your cigarette smoke,
And yet I didn't know to choke.
Didnt know to run,
Didnt know to escape,
Until it was too late.
Your touch, gentle and entrancing,
Fingers dancing across my skin,
Beckoned me closer.
Your love was a fire,
All-consuming,
Burning my insides
Until there was nothing
But you
Everytime I closed my eyes
White hot
Entangling me and
Making me feel electric.
I gasped with delight at
the chance for adventure, but
To my dismay,
I didn't know you'd fade
Until it was too late.
All consuming,
Entangling,
And electric.
Burning until there
Was nothing left.
I ran and ran
And even though the
Fire fell behind me,
The smell of you smoke
And the electricity followed
Permanently
Within me.
