I cannot put
my emotions
into words that
would make you
understand
but-

I could push
a jagged knife
into your heart,
or tear your
eyelashes off,
one by one.

and maybe then,
you could understand,
a small proportion,
of the pain inside me.

The author's comments:

A lot of teens like myself, suffer from depression, or other numerous mental illnesses. We feel as if though we are going through these things alone, but I promise you that there are other teens who struggle with it too.
