with the electric smile,
lightning laughter, and
candid charisma

this one is for the girl
who has been to more
funerals than weddings,
met more doctors than
dancers, but has still
managed to win more
battles than lose them

this one is for the girl
who will always be
stronger than she looks
and braver than she thinks

this one is for the girl
with enough backbone
to face any challenge
and resist any monkey wrench
thrown at her

this one is for the girl
who wakes up every morning
and fights off her demons
so well that the rest of us
fail to remember they
ever even existed

this one is for the girl
with innocent eyes and
a Wonder Woman cape

this one is for the girl
who is a hero
with super powers beyond
even her own comprehension

this one is for you
