Standing tall
Tears threaten to fall,
My hands won’t stop shakin’
I grit my teeth
In rebellious frustration.
You poke and you prod,
Rip me apart.
But no matter how much I bleed,
You will never silence my heart.
In the darkness of the night
I sew myself back together
Brace myself for another wound
Tomorrow is another day to weather.
No matter how hard you try
You can never take my pride
Because your words aren’t as strong,
As the love I have inside.
So huff all your want,
Go ahead and blow me away.
I’ll be right here waiting,
At the end of the day
