My Favorite Place

Lakes and oceans, rivers and streams,
So much water, yet so little it seems.
I love to swim, with a smile on my face,
Just being in the water, that’s my favorite place.
I feel the water on my skin,
I hear the splash as I dive in.
I stay under until I cannot breathe,
I never in a million years ever want to leave.
There’s one place that I can feel free,
There’s one place that I can be me.
It’s smooth as silk, delicate as lace,
Just being in the water, that’s my favorite place.

This is lovely and honest! I enjoyed reading your poetry and look forward to reading more! The use of sensory details helped me to understand what it is like to be in the place that you describe, and I enjoyed your use of rhyming.
