She called out to you, to lend a hand.
To ask for help, someone who understands.
But you turned around and walked away,
Even though your daughter begged you to stay.

She understood how you beat her, though didn’t know why.
She knew you were the reason why she would cry.
But your screaming, your voice, oh it enraged!
You made your own daughter feel as if she were caged.

She knew that you were the reason for her gloom.
She felt free in one place, the closet in her room,
Behind her one dress, the only dress she could own.
YOu could try to transform her, but she wasn’t alone.

Her dolls knew what it was like to feel neglect.
If she wasn’t the best, or not perfect-
She was equivalent to the scum on the bottom of your shoe.
But still your loyal daughter cared so much for you.

She was the girl who went out of her way,
Even made you a Best Father Award for you on Father’s Day.
But what do you do? Throw it away.
You left your little girl, though she begged you to stay.

Truth is, she didn’t love you, but she respected you.
You were supposed to protect her, help her through.
But instead, you use her as your slave.
Cause herto be courageous, paranoid, but brave.

She has gone through so much, she was abused.
She remembers your fist, she recalls every bruise.
She knows the feeling of an angry slap.
She knows what it’s like to deal with crap.

She knows what it’s like to live through Hell.
She knows the appearance on the devil.
And why? Because her father took her there.
Put her through Hell, and I do declare.

That the little girl doesn’t need her dad.
SHe was never there for her, but treated her bad.
She was never good enough, she was never perfect.
She was abused, she faced the neglect.

But it’s over, she’s still alive, and though it’s been hard.
She has come farther because her life was so charred.
But she is alive, though she was depressed.
She is alright, no longer hurt or distressed.

She wouldn’t fail, she wouldn’t fall.
She sat in her closet, one dress, one doll.
She cried every night, sometimes during the day.
All because her abuser left, when she begged him to stay.
