The Constitution only guarantees the American people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself. ~Benjamin Franklin

Driving always wore you out
You drove us all the time
To sports events, girl scouts, and school
Always waiting in some kind of line

The car became a special place
Where we talked about our day
Our grades, our friends, our uncertainties
Where we sang and laughed and played

The crazy man would take over
and we could hold on to our seats
as the car would jolt and lunge and spin
until the man would accept defeat

When we were in the car for hours
we always had a game
like grandmas, humming, or animal
Each time was never quite the same

The wheels would take us places
on adventures to new sites
and so the car severed as a resting place
when we traveled through the nights

so even though most of our time
was spent riding in the car
I got to spend my time with you
My amazing father, my superstar

The crazy man was this thing my dad did where the "man" would take over the car and act really crazy (in a non dangerous way). He did it a lot while we were young
