Ode To a Tissue

I see you at your very lowest,
A time when you are shunned; disregarded
I see what nobody can;
Your innermost complexities,
I am soft, comforting, and patient,
Yet I spend my days in the dark,
Hoping that one-day you’ll see me,
Hoping that one-day you’ll need me.

Yet I fall unloved; unacknowledged,
Thrown away like measly paper,
Yet I dare not cry,
For tears are mine to love and hold.
