All at once
Plunging down
Surging freedom!
Heartfelt life

Wind is swishing
Cutting by,
All things below
Bow before me

Dancing, screaming,
Turning shape,
Twirling in
The evening shade

Too immersed
In happiness
To look down,
Or up

The world is suddenly
So close
So large
Thunder crashes—

And just as I
Realize I was
Born to die,
I smash

Into millions of glassy shards.

The author's comments:
The Raindrop symbolizes a frolicking human, too immersed in its happiness and arrogance as it falls to think of where it is heading.
