A walking almanac
Can be better than
An encyclopedia incarnate,
Or all those things I am.
You were nice and caring, but slightly naive
Hearing out my every word day and night from that first grade.
So when it seems I was mean
- And, yes, I know I was -
Or that when I kicked you to the curb
I didn't feel a thing
It's true.
It was your fault, too,
You must admit,
But I carry my full share of regret.
