I close myself off
and look through the glass,
how have I stayed pure
in the past?
Can I run from demons inside
or can I be excorsied
with holy water or
with the fire?
I look around the dark
I look through the glass
all I see are shades
and wraiths haunting me.
I long to be free and long to fly high
but can you, with one wing, rule the sky?

you feel like the past chases you and you have to carry on with life, but you don't know how when you feel inadequate and you feel like half the person you used to be

thanks so much, always great to hear feedback. i liked the demon and angel imagery, sorta emphasises the degradation of purity of youth to the corruption of darkness in life. sorry went kinda deep there.

this is a great poem and I like the part with the demons :)
