The Deck is Where I Go

The deck is where I go
To see the setting sun,
To watch the blazing ball of fire
Diminish into the dust.

It descends from Heaven,
Gently lowering to the Earth’s surface.
Pink, blue, orange, yellow, red.

A harmony of colors blending into
The cloudless sky.

Beauty at its finest,
A warm serenity,
A calmness settling,
A feeling of absolute peace.

Sunsets,
A wonderful sight.
So beautiful on this
Warm summer night.

Very good details and imagery! but I must admit that you choose a very cliche topic for freeverse poetry. also your poem did not really flow well. It's hard to understand when you do not have a rythm. Remebr! Just because something is "free verse" doe snot mean that it is "prose". I can see you have talent though! keep writing!! Your still will always get better. Always just reread your poem to make sure that it sounds nice and someone would be able to identitfy it as poetry if it was read out loud to them.
